Absentee/Mail-In Ballots Are Available

School Board elections take place on April 20th from 2-9pm. If, for ANY REASON*, you do not think you will be able to vote at the polls(see details below), you have the right to request a mail-in ballot. You do not have to be out of town on that day. YOU MUST REQUEST THE MAIL-IN BALLOT AT LEAST SEVEN(7) DAYS PRIOR TO THE ELECTION.

There is a simple two step process:
  1. Request a mail-in ballot by completing this form: http://www.co.somerset.nj.us/clerk/pdf/absenteeballot.pdf

  2. You will receive the ballot in the mail within a few days of making the request. complete the form, checking off the "School" box at the top of the form. Once your ballot is voted and sealed, it must be returned to the Somerset County Board of Elections by 8:00 PM on the day of the election. Make sure to mail it no later than April 16th so the post office can deliver it on time.

*ANY REASON could include:

  • If you don't have a babysitter

  • If you don't have a ride

  • If you always work late

  • If you might forget about election day

  • If you don't want to touch the buttons that hundreds of other germ-ridden people touched

  • ANY Reason at all
